Our story

It was June 2008. Geraldine walked into the room of her English summer school class at St. Genevieve High School and, knowing no one, sat down by herself. As Jerry observed from across the room, he decided to go say hello, thinking she shouldn’t have to be alone. Geraldine watched as he sat down, said hello, and couldn’t help but feel that the feeling she felt in that moment was none other than love at first sight.

Our Story

A new friendship was sparked that summer, as they had contests over who could get the better grade and shared in the existential dread that was having to go to school during the summer. But perhaps, with the presence of the other, their dread was not so existential after all. During the following school year, their friendship continued to develop as they became best friends and spent all their time together. But the friendship remained as just that – a friendship. Geri and Jerry both had crushes on and dated other people and ignored the feelings they had for each other.

That following summer while Jerry was away in Mexico, Geri decided it was time to tell him how she really felt and was happy to find that he felt the same. It wasn’t long before they had their first kiss in front of their school. And it must’ve been one hell of a kiss, too. Geri was literally knocked off her feet as she ran to tell her friends!

As the relationship continued full swing, Geri and Jerry came to a point where they felt they should take a break to have some time to work on themselves before heading to college. As any best friends would, they still talked every day and went to prom together. (Some “break!”) On September 5, 2012, during their freshman year of college, Jerry told Geri that he couldn’t spend any more time apart and so they headed into their post-high school lives together, knowing deep down that that was the last time they’d ever be apart.

On December 2, 2017, after 9 years of love at first sight unfolding into everlasting love, Jerry asked Geri to marry him during a special trip to Disneyland - as if every trip to Disneyland weren’t already special enough!

Geri and Jerry are thrilled to start this new chapter of their saga and are grateful to everyone who has been a witness to their love throughout the years!
